Competition Rules

 

Here are the complete rules for all club competitions, with the exception of the Bass & Species Competitions.

Most of the rules are the same for the Bass & Species Competitions, with a few exceptions. (click here for Bass & Species Rules Bass & Species Guide lines )

 

1.

  Anglers must conform to the rules laid down for such competitions.

 

2.

  Club competitions are only open to members of the “Eastbourne Nomads Angling Club".

 

3.

  Sizeable fish only, per scale appended, to be weighed in.

 

4. 

   Two rods may be set up with baited rigs attatched. Only fish with ONE ROD at a time, and not more than THREE HOOKS to be used, but a simple spinner with one single treble hook, baited or not, will be considered as one hook.

 

5.

   Only fish caught within Club limits may be brought back to the Club scales, the limits are between Alice's Pipe (West of pipe) and Beachy Head (East of Lighthouse). All man-made structures are out of bounds, these include; The Pier, The Harbour and Harbour Walls. 

 

6.

   Entrance Fee to ordinary competitions to be fixed by the Adult Members at the Annual General Meeting. Entrance Fee to competition to be paid before starting to fish.

 

7.

  Any member gaining a special position in roving competitions by unfair means shall be disqualified.

 

8.

  No fish shall be weighed in, of less length than the following sizes:

9.

  Points will be awarded in each club competition for the heaviest catches of sizeable fish as follows:

1st place… 30 points

 2nd place… 29 points

      3rd place… 28 points etc

 

   Each angler shall pay the agreed amount to enter each competition.

  Cash will be paid to the anglers that come 1st, 2nd and 3rd, also the anglers that catch the biggest flat fish and the biggest round fish.

  In the event of there only being 2 anglers that weigh in fish, then the money for 3rd place shall be divided between 1st & 2nd place.

  In the event of there only being 1 angler that weighs fish in, then the money for 2nd & 3rd place, shall be given to 1st place.

 

  In the event of there being no biggest flat fish, then the money for biggest flat fish shall be paid to the angler with the biggest round fish.

 In the event of there being no biggest round fish, then the money for biggest round fish, shall be paid to the angler with the biggest flat fish.

 

  In the event of a tie in any competition, the competitors involved will share the points. If a tie occurs at the end of the year then the competitor with the greatest weight of fish will take precedence. If there is still a tie, then the competitor with the greatest amount of fish will take precedence.

 

10.

   The Committee have power to postpone any competition should they think such action necessary.

 

11. 

     In all competitions where prizes are not won, the surplus entrance fees shall be divided among

those who have won at the discretion of the Committee.

 

12.    No restriction is placed on the number of prizes a person may win, (click here for complete list of N.F.S.A. Specimen Weights )but weights for special competitions do not count for annual prizes except the Specimen Cup. Points are not given in Special Competitions.
