IN MEMORY OF DICK PENNY
This page is dedicated to Dick Penny, who sadly passed away on the 28th of November 2009.
Dick was a great man and did a lot for match angling.
He was a gentleman, very kind, helpful and polite.
Dick was one of a kind, irreplaceable.
He will be sadly missed.
DICK PENNY
For those of you who were unable to make it, Dick Penny's funeral was at The Eastbourne Crematorium on Wednesday the 9th of December 2009 at 2.30pm.
There was a huge number of friends and family (about 150+) that came to pay their last respects to Dick.
Everybody went back to the Eastborne Angling Association for food and a drink (or 2).
Below is a copy of the order of service.
The Fisherman's Prayer
God grant that I may live to fish
Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast
I then most humbly pray
When in the Lord's safe landing net
I am peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged
As big enough to keep.

The Eulogy read out by David Rowe was absolutely wonderful, I can't begin to tell you what he said, but I will say that he wrote it from his heart, and Dick would have love it.
On Sunday December the 6th 2009, Tony's Tackle had their open beach competition, in with the competition was a mini competition that the biggest majority of anglers paid into, half of the money was used to buy a clock, that was presented to his wife.
THE DICK PENNY MEMORIAL CLOCK
The clock was engraved with these words
DICK PENNY
THE GENTLE GIANT
A GREAT MAN
HIS NAME WILL LIVE ON FOREVER
R.I.P.
