Steve Frost with a 12lb Pike

Steve Frost caught this 16lb Pike on a very wet, windy and muddy day, at Shinewater Lake. The pike put up a huge fight both in the water and on land, sadly, due to losing his mat, (it blew into the water 15 minutes before hand), the pike got a bit muddy.

In May 1979, Trevor Rooney caught this Bream, it weighed 8lb 6oz. He was fishing from an anchored boat, on the River Shannon, above Athlone, in Ireland. The method was bread flake on the ledger. Photo taken by Brian Howell.

Trevor Rooney caught this 9lb 9oz Barbel, in July 1978. He was fishing on the Hampshire Avon at Christchurch, using luncheon meat on a size 6 hook, 7lb line and a Quivertip rod. Photo by Peter Swift.

In July 1978, Trevor Rooney caught this 4lb 2oz Chub. Trevor was fishing on the River Rother at Bodium, in Kent, using a simple link ledger, 6lb line, a size 8 hook with cheese paste. Photo by Mark Hopper.

In February 1979, Trevor Rooney caught this 15lb 8oz Pike, he was on a trip to the then famous 16 foot drain, the Suffolk Drains. He went with some members of the "South East Specimen Group", their host was the famous Pike angler "Neville Fickling". Photo by Neville Fickling.

There's only a few good reasons for going to France, cheap booze, cheap tobacco, good weather and BIG fish,
well, on one of his trips to France, Tony Kirrage certainly found the BIG fish, he caught this 54lb 8oz Mirror Carp. What a WOPPER.
